Despite the intensifying scrutiny surrounding Chelsea’s recent form, Liam Rosenior is being given a more elevated role behind the scenes that suggests he’s here for the long run.
Liam Rosenior’s position at Chelsea remains remarkably secure despite a bruising 3–0 home defeat to Manchester City that has left the club’s Champions League hopes hanging in the balance.
Fan frustration is mounting, but the board has signaled total faith in Rosenior, with reports confirming he will not face a performance review this summer.
Planning for the 2026/27 season is already well underway, with a strategic shift toward Premier League-proven talent to balance the squad’s youthful profile. Targets like Maxence Lacroix and Murillo are central to this rebuild, as Rosenior looks to move away from the whole talent model.

Liam Rosenior is heavily involved with summer recruitment
According to a report from the Daily Mail, when Rosenior signed his six-and-a-half-year deal to join in January, he wasn’t told he would face an immediate review in his first summer.
Meanwhile, he’s continuing to be heavily involved in recruitment meetings, which suggests they’re thinking longer term.
Rosenior already appears to have locked in the first signing he wants this summer, with Valentin Barco set to make his way to Stamford Bridge from sister club Strasbourg, as well as Emanuel Emegha.

Liam Rosenior looks like he’ll be given a summer window
Despite recent form, the Chelsea board appears resolute in their commitment to Liam Rosenior, signaling that he will be the architect of the club’s 2026 summer overhaul.
By allowing him to hand-pick profiles that address the squad’s lack of physicality and resilience, the hierarchy is seemingly putting their full trust in him.
This summer represents Rosenior’s first true opportunity to flush out the project mentality and build a resilient, Premier League-ready spine.
