Confirmed: Arsenal defender Sam Chapman joins Georgia Southern University

Arsenal defender Sam Chapman has signed for American side Georgia Southern University.

Chapman’s scholarship contract with Arsenal had been set to expire at the end of June.

He recently made his debut for Arsenal U21s, featuring against Sunderland.

The centre-back joined Arsenal’s Hale End academy in 2016 and progressed through the ranks before signing scholarship terms in 2024.

Chapman played 23 times for Arsenal U18s and was also called up at U19 level.

Former Arsenal academy goalkeeper Michael Zeitzen also recently joined the American side.

Josh Ogunnaike, Alex Marciniak and Samuel Onyekachukwu are the three remaining second year scholars at Arsenal.
