'Expect...' - David Ornstein shares what he's hearing on Arsenal signing Kvaratskhelia

David Ornstein has shared an update on what he is hearing about a move for Arsenal to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this summer.

The Gunners are looking to bolster their attack this summer, as they look to continue their progress from recent years, with the team currently sitting six points clear at the top of the Premier League table ahead of their clash with Man City on Sunday, while they are also in the Champions League semi-finals against Atletico Madrid.

But despite a fine season, Mikel Arteta is still looking for ways to strengthen ahead of the new season, and the club have been linked with a move to sign the former Napoli star in a big-money deal.

Arsenal 'Love' Kvaratskhelia

Kvaratskhelia joined PSG in January 2025 from the Serie A side and has been instrumental for Luis Enrique's side, scoring in the Champions League final last year, while he has registered 12 goals and nine assists for PSG this season too.

Having already won everything he can in France inside 18 months, there has been speculation that he could be open to a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal understood to be among the most interested clubs in his services.

However, while answering fan questions in a Q&A on The Athletic website, journalist Ornstein revealed that he believes there is 'no chance' of a deal happening this summer for Arsenal or anyone else involving the Georgia star.

"Everyone loves Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but I fully expect him to stay at PSG," he wrote.

"He seems extremely happy there, and they are certainly extremely happy with him. I don't think Arsenal or anyone else has a chance at the moment."

Kvaratskhelia Would Be Dream Signing

The expectation at Arsenal is that there will be movement in and out of the Emirates Stadium this summer, with Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus the most likely to be moved on in attack.

Their exits would open up the door for a left-sided attacker to join, and there are not many wingers in world football better than 25-year-old Kvaratskhelia at this moment in time, and his direct style would be the perfect addition to the Gunners squad.

But that is the exact reason why a deal is unlikely. PSG know how good he is, and he is incredibly important to them and the way they play. Letting him leave would leave a huge hole in their squad, and there aren't many around who can replace him, so unless Arsenal can stump up an absurd amount of cash, they will need to look elsewhere.
