Watkins ‘very privileged’ after scoring 100th goal for Villa to help his side into Europa League semis

**Ollie Watkins says scoring his 100th goal for Aston Villa to help fire the club into the Europa League semi-finals is an amazing feeling.**

Villa thrashed Bologna 4-0 at Villa Park thanks to goals from Watkins, Emi Buendia, Morgan Rogers and Ezri Konsa to give them a 7-1 aggregate win.

Watkins’ goal was his 100th in a Villa shirt and speaking after the game, the striker said: “It’s a lovely feeling, a great milestone to hit.

“Very privileged to be out here and score so many goals for this club. It’s amazing, a great achievement and one I’ll definitely cherish.

“I’ve still got friends I was playing with at Weston-super-Mare and Exeter City, and I’ve come a long way.

“I just embrace it now and try to enjoy it, rather than put a lot of pressure on myself. I’ve come a long way, so embrace it and take it all in.

“It’s an amazing achievement to get to a semi-final, and if someone had said to me two or three years ago we would be fighting for Champions League and in the semi-finals of the Europa League, I would have bitten their hand off.”
