Karen Carney reveals what she's heard about how Vitor Pereira is viewed at Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest got the job done against Porto to book their spot in the Europa League semi-final.

Nottingham Forest will meet Aston Villa in the last four, so they’re up against probably the strongest team left in the competition.

But, it seems Nottingham Forest players have great confidence that they can reach the final in Istanbul, as Morgan Gibbs-White made a bold statement in his post-match interview.

Phew… what did you make of that Forest fans! 😅

Nottingham Forest vs Porto full-time.

That belief seems to come from Vitor Pereira, as it appears the Portuguese boss is getting more of a buy-in from the dressing room than Sean Dyche did.

Karen Carney confirmed that to be the case in her post-match assessment of the Porto win.

Speaking on TNT Sports, Carney explained that she’s been hearing just how much the Nottingham Forest players love Pereira.

“He is quite a charismatic guy and you hear that the players get on really well with him,” the pundit revealed.

“Ultimately he has to get a song out of them and he has got to find a way for each individual to perform.

“This is the business end of the season. As a player if you can’t get up for this then you shouldn’t be in football.”

🔢How many points do Forest take from this run of fixtures…

Speaking last month, Callum Hudson-Odoi labelled Pereira ‘amazing’, so it’s pretty clear there is a much better feeling around Wilford Lane than before.

“He’s come in and brought that passion, brought that energy and made sure we understand his ideas straight away and you can tell from the way we’re playing how he wants us to play,” Hudson-Odoi said.

Ultimately, Pereira will be judged by his results, and it’s a must-win game for him on Sunday, as Forest take on Burnley.

A win would move them onto 36 points in the Premier League and surely just another three points away from retaining their top-flight status.
