Chelsea closing in on new deal for superstar which will see him stay at the club until 2033: Reports

Chelsea star Moises Caicedo is set to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge. The Ecuador midfielder is set to extend his stay at the club until 2033, after joining from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2023.

According to a report in BBC Sport, Caicedo will be penning a lucrative deal at Chelsea, which will see him get a pay rise at the club. The midfielder becomes the second senior player to agree an extension after captain Reece James signed a deal earlier this season.

Caicedo spoke to El Chiringuito TV earlier this season and revealed that he wants to become a club legend at Stamford Bridge. He was not thinking of an exit and said:

"I'm focused on my club right now. I have a contract with my club, and I want to do well. I want to be a legend, God willing."

During an interview with Diario AS, Caicedo was asked about a possible move to Real Madrid. He was quick to say that it was not his focus and said that his plan was to stay at Stamford Bridge.

“You never know in football, don't you think? I have a contract with Chelsea now. The truth is, I haven't honestly thought about another club, about leaving London, but well, in the end, you never know in football.

“All I want is to enjoy myself. I have a contract and I want to keep playing as long as God allows. After that, we'll see what happens. I have a contract, but we'll see what the future holds. Let's see what surprises await us.”

After Caicedo, Chelsea are keen to extend the contracts of Enzo Fernandez and Levi Colwill.

Emmanuel Petit claimed Chelsea trio were looking for exits

Emmanuel Petit spoke to GOAL in March, saying that the Chelsea trio were looking to leave the club. He claimed that Moises Caicedo, Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez were looking dejected after the PSG loss and said:

"When you look at the faces, you know, straight after the game, the spine of the team, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Cole Palmer. When you look at their faces, they feel lost, thinking: 'Am I right to stay at this club? Am I going to leave the club at the end of the season? I’m tired of what’s happening at the club.'"

Cole Palmer also has a contract until 2023, while Enzo Fernandez has a deal until 2032.
