Chelsea fans could be in for a very different kind of transfer window under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital this summer.
It has been reported that Chelsea will tweak their transfer strategy slightly and target more experienced players.
With that in mind, The Chelsea Chronicle has come up with a list of five seasoned footballers the club should be looking at heading into the summer.

Julian Alvarez
Club: Atletico Madrid
Position: Striker
Age: 26
Joao Pedro has done a good job leading the line for Chelsea this season, but the Blues are in no position to say no to more firepower. Therefore, Julian Alvarez could be the perfect addition to their squad.
Alvarez has already played in the Premier League and is now shining in Spain. This season, the Argentine has scored 18 goals in 46 appearances.
Anthony Gordon
Club: Newcastle United
Position: Winger
Age: 25
Anthony Gordon has recently been linked to Chelsea, so he is a player they may end up pursuing when the transfer window opens.
Like Alvarez, he has plenty of experience playing in the Premier League. The England international can play on the left and up front. No one at Chelsea has made the left winger position their own, so it is up for grabs.

Leon Goretzka
Club: Bayern Munich
Position: Midfielder
Age: 31
Chelsea may need to sign a replacement for Enzo Fernandez, and Leon Goretzka could be an ideal short-term successor.
Liam Rosenior may be able to get a couple of good seasons out of the German, who can score goals from midfield just like Fernandez. His contract expires at the end of the campaign, so he will not cost Chelsea a penny.
Cristian Romero
Club: Tottenham Hotspur
Position: Centre-back
Age: 27
If Tottenham Hotspur get relegated this term, which looks like a real possibility, Chelsea should be all over Cristian Romero.
Romero has experience, ability and leadership qualities, though his disciplinary record is a bit of a concern. His Tottenham teammate Micky van de Ven is also a name worth considering for Chelsea in their search for a new centre-half.

Maxence Lacroix
Club: Crystal Palace
Position: Centre-back
Age: 26
Finally, Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix is another central defender Chelsea should be looking at. There is a lot to like about the France international, who defends very aggressively.
It is thought that Lacroix would be open to joining Chelsea this summer. There are a lot of good names out there; there is no excuse for Chelsea not to sign an experienced player or two before the start of the 2026/27 season.
