Newcastle United are one of the clubs battling for Inter Milan’s Davide Frattesi.
In September 2025, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy that the midfielder was open to joining the Magpies last summer.
The move didn’t go through because Newcastle United didn’t meet the Serie A side’s then request of €45-50m.
The 26-year-old played 1,079 minutes from 29 matches in all competitions this season and isn’t happy with his situation.
His league stats are as follows:
Appearances: 18
Starts: 3
Total minutes: 510
Minutes per game: 28
Newcastle United offering escape route
L’Interista now report several Serie A sides are keen on securing Davide Frattesi’s services in the summer.
He has options to join Napoli and Juventus while his former club, AS Roma could make an offer to the Nerazzurri.
The next window could be the ‘right time’ for the Italy international to leave the San Siro. That’s mainly because he’s even attracting interest from the Premier League, ‘especially Newcastle’.
Inter Milan are demanding a minimum fee of €35m and the report state Eddie Howe’s side ‘could easily meet’ their request. In addition to Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest are also in the picture to sign the player.
He seems to have decided leave Cristian Chivu’s side after this season as he’s packing his bag.
In other words, the Italian club and the midfielder are open to parting ways with each other. His preference is to continue in his country, which may not please Newcastle United and his other foreign suitors.
Last month, Sport Witness covered claims from Italy of the Premier League duo’s interest and Inter Milan favouring a sale to England.
That could still be the case as it’s unclear whether any of the interested clubs from Serie A are willing to meet Inter Milan’s €35m demand.
Contract, value and agent info
Transfermarkt value Davide Frattesi at €22m, and the highest was €35m in June 2024. At the end of this season, he will have two years left on his contract at Inter Milan.
Agency GR Sports, owned by agent Giuseppe Riso, are representing the midfielder. Their client list also includes Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali, and this connection may help the Magpies to get ahead of competition.
