Alejandro Garnacho's transfer value has RISEN despite his dismal start to life at Chelsea. The Argentine left Manchester United to join the Blues in a deal worth £40million in August 2025.

Garnacho, 21, had pushed to leave United throughout the summer and got his move just days before the window closed with the winger signing a bumper seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

But Garnacho has struggled to find form since his move to Chelsea, having scored eight goals and provided four assists in 38 appearances across all competitions. While that return doesn't seem too bad on paper, just one goal has come in the Premier League and that was against Sunderland back in October.

He has been in and out of the Chelsea XI since Liam Rosenior's appointment in January and came on for the final 23 minutes against Manchester City on Sunday, with Pedro Neto starting in his place.

Despite Garnacho's difficulties, his value has skyrocketed during his time at Chelsea. Indeed, according to latest CIES Observatory figures, Garnacho is now worth £78.5m, almost double the amount the Blues paid for him.

Compared to other players, Barcelona's Lamine Yamal is the most valued in world football at around £350m, while Manchester City's Erling Haaland (£215m) comes in at second and Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe (£165m) third.

Those in Garnacho's price bracket include Brentford's Igor Thiago, Lyon's Endrick, Manchester United's Benjamin Sesko, Porto's Victor Froholdt and Leipzig's Yan Diomande.

But Garnacho might have a new club before the start of next season. The Sun reported on Thursday that Chelsea are open to selling Garnacho in the summer, with head coach Rosenior believed to have reservations about the wide man, who has started just four Premier League matches in 2026.

Neto is Rosenior's preferred left winger while the Blues have Jamie Gittens, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since January, as another option.

Garnacho was so keen to join Chelsea that his agents visited Stamford Bridge in January 2025, eight months before his move to west London. The ex-Atletico Madrid man is represented by former Blues midfielder Enrique de Lucas and Garnacho made a number of day trips to the capital last season.

However, Garnacho suggested in an interview last week that he regretted some of his actions near the end of his time at United. "I remember in the last six months I was just not playing like before at Manchester United," he told Premier League productions.

"I started to be on the bench, it's not (such a) bad thing, I was only 20 years old, but in my mind it was like I had to play every game. In my mind, maybe it is also on me, I started to do some bad things. But yes, it was just this moment in life and sometimes you have to make decisions and I am really proud to be here and still in the Premier League at a club like this.

"Everyone knows the team we have and the things we can do. Sometimes, we have better moments or worse moments, I am proud to be here but with United, I have nothing wrong to say about the club, no one in the club or the teammates. It's just a moment in life that change and life continues. I have no regrets."
