Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has talked up the important role that Mason Mount and other players had on him after he made the switch from France to England.
Leny Yoro was only 18 years old when he left Ligue 1 side Lille and completed a big-money move to Old Trafford during the reign of former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag.
The Manchester United centre-back cost the Red Devils an initial fee of £52.18m in 2024 and Man Utd agreed an additional fee of £6.73m in potential add-ons.
Yoro had made his name in France ahead of his move to Old Trafford and the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain were all interested in him.

Leny Yoro says Mason Mount’s influence on him is rivalled by Man Utd players like Kobbie Mainoo
Leny Yoro has been able to continue developing his emerging playing career in the Manchester United first-team squad since he made the big call to leave Lille.
The 20-year-old Frenchman has been in and out of the starting XI under the likes of Ruben Amorim, Erik ten Hag and Michael Carrick at Man Utd since 2024.

Speaking to Manchester United’s official club media, Yoro admitted that Mason Mount was a key influence on him at Old Trafford alongside Kobbie Mainoo.
“When I first came, I had Kobbie, I had also Mason, I remember Mason spoke with me a lot,” he said.
Mount had arrived in the transfer window before Yoro after the Red Devils signed the 27-year-old England international from Chelsea for an initial £55m fee.
Kobbie Mainoo, on the other hand, had climbed out of the United youth academy and made his name in the first team after a breakout season under Ten Hag.

Leny Yoro explained the importance of Amad Diallo and Hannibal Mejbri to him at Man Utd as well
Outside of Man Utd No 7 Mount and England midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, Yoro received support from other players that he has played alongside at Old Trafford.
The former Lille defender revealed that Amad Diallo and Hannibal Mejbri both helped him after his move to England because they were able to speak French to him.
“Amad, Hannibal, he spoke French, so he helped me also; these guys helped me a lot,” Yoro added.
Hannibal Mejbri would leave Old Trafford in the same window that Yoro arrived in after Burnley signed the former Man Utd talent for an initial transfer fee of £5.4m.
