Chelsea fans are crying out for the club to address their transfer policy after years of signing young players, and Behdad Eghbali has admitted there are changes coming.
The club have been accused of focusing too hard on bringing in promising young talents rather than ready-made stars.
There is no surprise that the most impressive signing from their recent summer spending spree has been Joao Pedro, the one who had the most time playing in the Premier League.

Behdad Eghbali says Chelsea are changing their transfer strategy
The view of the supporters has not been lost on Eghbali and Todd Boehly, with the former telling The Athletic that despite doing a lot of things well, they have acknowledged they need to add a balance of experience to reach the next level.
He said: “I think we’ve done a few things right, a lot of things right. We’ve got to be better on a few things, to add more ready-made players at this part of the project, to take (it) to the next level, to be consistent over time.

“We recognise we need balance. We have world champions, we have Champions League winners, we have elite, elite young players. Experience has developed now. The team has been together for two or three years. The objective is to keep your best players, and we’ve done that, and there’s no intention to rebuild every three or four years. You tweak a model, you improve, you learn from mistakes.
“The view is now that we’re here with a great core base, to add some of that experience, to take the team to the next level and have consistency. That fact is not lost on us, and we’re at a point where we can take that next step, hopefully in the next year and beyond.”
Currently the oldest outfield player in the first team squad is Tosin Adarabioyo, although he has proven to not be in the regular plans of Liam Rosenior.

Chelsea owners prepared to back Rosenior
Eghbali admitted the club broke their own policy to sack Enzo Maresca mid-season, and they have not progressed as they would have liked in the time since.
Despite that, the owners are massive fans of Rosenior, and are expected to back him in the transfer market when the window opens again.
Reports have stated that even if the Blues miss out on Champions League football they are prepared to carry on with the current manager, a luxury that almost certainly wouldn’t have been available to Maresca.
The signings they make this summer will give the best indicator of how serious they are about addressing the fans’ concerns.
