Rugby League outfit Castleford Tigers will be showing Leeds United’s FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea on its big screen within its FanZone at its OneBore Stadium.

This comes after the announcement that O2 Academy Leeds will be turning into a Leeds United fan park on Sunday, April 26. More than 33,000 Wembley tickets have been allocated for United fans, although the cap on numbers means many supporters will be left disappointed.

Swathes of fans without a ticket are anticipated to travel to London to soak up the atmosphere as the club compete in their first semi-final for 39 years. But for many, they will stay and watch the game in Leeds.

Castleford Tigers will open its doors to welcome these fans to watch the game together on the day. “Throughout the day, [there is] easy access for kids and families to enjoy playing on the all-new 4G pitch, and there will be special food and drink offers too,” a spokesperson said.

Doors open from 1pm with tickets just £5 and includes a free first drink. Under-12s are free to attend at no cost. Tickets and information can be found here.

Meanwhile, those who wish to join together with a greater number of fellow faithful to gather together can now do so en masse thanks to organisation ForTheFans, which has provided live screenings of matches for more than 400,000 fans over the past five years.

It has booked out the O2 Academy on Cookridge Street exclusively for more than 2,000 Leeds supporters to watch the game in the same venue. A DJ will be providing classic club anthems through the speakers while an unnamed ‘Leeds football legend’ will make an appearance.

As per the ForTheFans website, doors will open at 1.30pm with an end time of 6pm. Only children aged eight or over can attend and all under 14s must be accompanied by an adult on the balcony.

Accessibility seating is on offer via access@o2academyleeds.co.uk, with carers allowed to attend for free.
