'We know' - Fabian Hurzeler issues clear message to Kaoru Mitoma ahead of Tottenham

Tottenham vs Brighton from theTottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League - Saturday, 5.30pm

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler said Kaoru Mitoma is a game-changing option to face Tottenham this Saturday.

Mitoma, 28, has been on the sidelines of late as Yankuba Minteh has started on the left flank, with the impressive Diego Gomez on the right.

Mitoma’s last start for Brighton was the 1-0 home loss against Arsenal on March 3, where he injured his ankle and was forced off at halftime.

He left the stadium on crutches and wore a protective boot and the Japan international then missed the 1-0 away win at Sunderland. He has then been used as a substitute in the later stages of Brighton’s recent wins against Liverpool and then away triumph at Burnley last Saturday.

Hurzeler, speaking in his pre-Tottenham press conference, said Mitoma is back at full fitness and is an option for face the relegation strugglers this weekend.

“It's definitely an option,” said Hurzeler. “Having Mitoma fully fit is always great.

“Definitely a big option for us. We know that Mitoma can change a game. Mitoma is crucial for us to perform well.

“On the other side, we have Yankuba Minteh showing some really good performances.

“On the left side, showing a good connection together with Ferdi.

“Therefore, it's positive for me to have these two players available and that I can make a decision.”

Brighton can score from anywhere

Brighton have also proved to be a threat from all areas of the pitch this term. Mats Wieffer netted a brace at Burnley, meaning Brighton have had a 17 different goalscorers this season.

Hurzeler added: “We want to have a very attacking style and we want to have players who are able to attack the opponent's box and also have the freedom to attack the opponent's box.

“We want attacking full-backs. We want that they have the freedom to attack because that's one of their strengths. We want to bring them into positions where they can fulfil their whole potential.

“It's positive to have this flexibility in your team. It's positive that we have this unpredictability because every player can score and it's also very important as a team to know that you're not relying towards one player.

“You can rely on every player because every player is able to create a danger for the opponent. “
