Injured Wolves star ruled out of Leeds United trip and late call being made on defender in Rob…

Wolves team news for Saturday’s clash against Leeds United at Elland Road.

Boss Rob Edwards has provided his Wolves team news for Saturday’s huge Premier League clash against Leeds United at Elland Road for which two first team stars are now definitely out.

Wolves were dealt an extra blow in addition to the result in last weekend’s 4-0 defeat at West Ham in which centre-back Yerson Mosquera also picked up a tenth booking of the season which landed the defender a two match ban.

The club had also been dealt two injury blows ahead of the game, keeper Sam Johnstone having suffered a shoulder injury and experienced full-back Matt Doherty also picking up a knock.

Neither made the matchday squad for last Friday night’s clash at West Ham, ahead of which there were reports that Johnstone’s season may be over. Edwards, though, was hopeful that Doherty would be back to face the Whites.

Speaking at Friday’s pre-Leeds press conference, Edwards confirmed that keeper Johnstone would not be available for Saturday’s trip to Elland Road but that Doherty was pushing to be involved that a late call would be taken.

Elsewhere on the Wolves team news front, the club’s young Paraguayan winger Enso González has not featured for the first team all season and not played at all since getting a run of games for the under-21s which came to an end in February as he then suffered a meniscus injury.

The injury required surgery and was thought to leave him looking at two months out.
