Michael Carrick has announced that he will be without Lisandro Martinez for the trip to Stamford Bridge tomorrow night, confirming Manchester United were unsuccessful in their red-card appeal.
As a result, it has been set in stone that both Martinez and Harry Maguire will be suspended following their respective dismissals, leaving only Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro as the available centre-backs, with Matthijs de Ligt still sidelined with a back injury.

Who else will miss out vs Chelsea?
Along with De Ligt, Patrick Dorgu remains in the treatment room, though Carrick has ensured he is on track with his progression.
However, the Dane has yet to return to full team training, meaning he may have to wait until the very final fixtures of the campaign to play again.
Fans are sweating over Kobbie Mainoo’s condition after he was ruled out of the Leeds United defeat with a minor injury, but it looks as though it’ll come down to the wire for the club to determine if he’s match-fit.
Carrick said this afternoon: “Kobbie is working towards the Chelsea game. He has done little bits, so there is a decision to be made there.”
Mainoo in race against time to make travelling squad
Should the youngster be available, he would replace Manuel Ugarte in the XI and be restored to his usual spot alongside Casemiro.

Mainoo 10 10 886
Ugarte 7 1 155

Ugarte endured yet another lacklustre shift on Monday and extended an unwanted record of winning only once in his 10 starts this season.
It only further highlighted United’s need for a major midfield overhaul, considering how much the side struggles in the absence of Mainoo and the fact that Casemiro is now overseeing his last six games as a Red.
