Chelsea urged to bring back£200k-a-week Star to Stamford Bridge

Former midfielder John Obi Mikel has sparked debate among Chelsea supporters after suggesting the Premier League side are already feeling the absence of forward Nicolas Jackson, currently on a season-long loan at FC Bayern Munich.

Speaking on his podcast, Mikel said the London club lacked the energy, pressing, and physical edge that Jackson brought to the front line last season. He argued that ***CHELSEA***’s attacking problems have become more pronounced since sanctioning the striker’s £70 million move, and he called on the club’s hierarchy to explore the possibility of recalling him.

Chelsea, who have struggled for consistency under new management this season, have been criticised for lacking a decisive presence in the final third. Mikel said Jackson, despite being raw and sometimes erratic, offered pace and unpredictability that stretched defences and created space for teammates.

He noted that Jackson’s development at Bayern could make him an even more valuable asset if CHELSEA move quickly to reintegrate him.

The former midfielder also expressed frustration at what he described as “short-term decision-making” at the club. He argued that allowing a young, improving forward to leave at a time when Chelsea continue to rebuild was “confusing,” especially given the long-term nature of the club’s sporting project.

Bayern, who are competing strongly in Germany and in Europe, have so far been pleased with Jackson’s output, with the striker reportedly adapting well to the club’s high-pressing style. The Bavarian club is believed to hold an option to make the deal permanent, though there has been no confirmation from either side on whether they intend to activate it.

He was quoted: “People [are] getting this wrong. We said it so many times. He was a fantastic player and I actually think right now we are missing him. We are missing Nicholas Jackson. I can say that now right now in the pod and I said it so many times that he was a good player.

“What he gave us no striker has given it to us. Yes, Joao Pedro is scoring goals. He’s doing all this. Yes. But what Nicholas Jackson was giving us in terms of number one pressing high. The way he was pressing aggressively well.”
