According to SPORT, La Liga president Javier Tebas has met with several FC Barcelona officials today.

The La Liga chief landed in Barcelona today on a private flight from Madrid. His main reason for the visit was the Trofeo Conde de Godó, held at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona.

There, Tebas met members of Barcelona’s hierarchy in a relaxed setting. Upon arrival, he was greeted in a normal and friendly manner by Alejandro Echevarria and Bojan Krkic, as well as president-elect Joan Laporta, in a scene reflecting the current harmony between both parties.

It is not officially a working lunch, but it is clear that, with everyone at the same venue, there will be time to discuss important matters.

The meeting comes just days after Barcelona’s elimination from the UEFA Champions League, following an aggregate loss to Atletico Madrid.

A sporting setback that, as often happens at this stage of the season, opens the door to all kinds of transfer rumours and boardroom movements, especially with the summer approaching.

With La Liga all but secured, though not yet mathematically sealed, the Blaugrana are beginning to move ahead for the next transfer window.

Planning is already underway and various options to strengthen the squad are being studied, but many of these operations will depend on La Liga’s approval, as Barcelona are still not operating under the 1:1 financial rule.

This requires ongoing dialogue to assess the feasibility of potential signings and to ensure every move fits within the available financial margin.

In this context, Tebas’ presence in Barcelona and his closeness with the club’s directors reinforces the idea that the institutional relationship between Barcelona and La Liga is positive and fluid.

There is an understanding which helps with day-to-day matters pertaining to the club and resolving key issues at important moments of the season, without implying any kind of preferential treatment.
