Striker wants more after reaching another career landmark.
Ollie Watkins is already eyeing his next century - after becoming the newest member of Villa’s 100 goals club.
The England international became just the 12th player in the club’s 152-year history to register 100 goals when he tapped home the opener in Thursday’s 4-0 Europa League rout of Bologna.
Watkins is the first to reach the mark since the legendary Peter McParland 66 years ago but wasted little time on reflecting on the feat, as he outlined a fresh target.
The 30-year-old now wants to hit 100 goals in the Premier League and can make further inroads when Villa host Sunderland on Sunday.
Watkins, who has scored 84 top flight goals since joining Villa in 2020, said: “There have been a lot of ups and downs and this is definitely a milestone I will cherish.
“But it only gives me motivation to score 100 Premier League goals now. That is the next one.
“I want to keep scoring each game. I am really enjoying this period of the season. I want to keep pushing now. It is not a time to relax. We want to keep pushing.”
Watkins, who is already Villa’s all-time top scorer in the Premier League, has been honest about the current season being the most difficult of his career yet the past month has seen him recover something approaching top form.
Villa have won five of their last seven matches and Watkins has scored five goals, taking his total tally to the campaign to 13.
Erling Haaland and Mo Salah, meanwhile, are the only other Premier League players to have registered a century of goals in all competitions since Watkins moved to Villa.
Asked if he was peaking at the right time this season, with the team chasing success both on the domestic front and in Europe, he replied: “Yeah, you could say so.
“As a team, if we aren’t playing well it is hard personally for me to play well as well.
“It is better for me if the team are at their best, playing in good combinations.
“The more chances I get, the better for me so yes, collectively as a team we are playing well now and I feel that helps me.”
Villa head into the weekend with a seven-point cushion inside the top-five, a position which was unthinkable when they drew 1-1 against 10-man Sunderland in September’s reverse fixture and boss Unai Emery accused his players of being “lazy”.
The Mackems themselves have enjoyed an excellent first season back in the Premier League and are firmly in the hunt for European football, having won their last two matches.
“Obviously they don’t have European football this season, so have had a week to prepare,” said Watkins.
“It’s important we rest up and refocus. We still have it all to play for. The games are coming thick and fast.”
Midfielder Ross Barkley, who is not part of Villa’s Europa League squad, will return to contention as Emery’s men hunt a fourth straight home win in all competitions.
