Chelsea sources have reportedly cooled interest in Marcos Senesi, pivoting away from the Bournemouth defender as the search for a new centre-back intensifies.
Marcos Senesi is expected to leave Bournemouth at the end of the season when his contract with the club comes to an end.
Reports have stated that Chelsea are planning to sign a new centre-back this summer as they search for the perfect long-term partner for Levi Colwill.

Chelsea sources saying they are not interested in Marcos Senesi
The news comes at the same time club owner Behdad Eghbali has confirmed they are going to look to add more Premier League experience to their squad, some people have put two and two together regarding his future.
However, Ben Jacobs has told The United Stand that Senesi is not that high up Chelsea’s list, due to their desire to sign a player who is taller and better at aerial duels.

He said: “I’m told, contrary to reports and full respect to the excellent journalists that have said Chelsea, but I’m told that they’re not currently active, even though they considered Senesi in January.
“And the reason why is because Chelsea are prioritising height and aerial duel winning over only ball playing. and Senesi is very rounded and can play on the left or the right side as a centre-back, but not somebody that Chelsea in negotiations for.”
Senesi has won just 47.8% of his aerial duels in the Premier League this season, putting him in the bottom section when it comes to defenders.
Chelsea are reportedly set to tweak their transfer strategy and sign more experienced players!

For context, Trevoh Chalobah wins 52% of his aerial duels, and Wesley Fofana wins more than 65% of his, and these are the numbers Chelsea are looking to upgrade on.
Tottenham are reportedly the frontrunners to sign Senesi at this stage, however this will likely rely on whether they can maintain their place in the Premier League.
Relegation would likely invoke a fire sale in North London, and Chelsea are reportedly interested in Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Bergvall should the opportunity arise.
