“Let’s get it right..” – Chris Sutton makes ‘nervy’ Leeds United v Wolves prediction

Leeds United take on Wolves this weekend looking to move nine clear of Spurs with a victory, after Monday’s historic Old Trafford win.

The Elland Road crowd are no doubt going to be in fine voice this Saturday afternoon against Wolves, following Monday’s events away at Old Trafford.

That win over Man Utd will live long in the memory, and importantly, puts us in the driving seat to steer well clear of relegation trouble. That is, provided we do our job professionally from hereon.

“Nervy” – Chris Sutton predicts Leeds United win over Wolves on Saturday

The chance for Leeds to move nine clear is massive this weekend.

Out of the four sides fighting to avoid 18th place, we play first. Spurs are at home to Brighton shortly after our game finishes on Saturday evening, before Nottingham Forest host Burnley on Sunday, and then West Ham make the short trip to Crystal Palace on Monday night.

A win for Leeds against the side sitting rock bottom would move us onto 39 points for the season, and surely looking ahead to Premier League consolidation.

BBC pundit Chris Sutton believes it may be “nervy” at Elland Road tomorrow. But, he backs Daniel Farke’s side to come out on top against Rob Edwards, winning 2-1.

“Let’s get it right, Leeds could have beaten Manchester United by a much bigger margin than 2-1 on Monday night,” Sutton began.

“I had Dominic Calvert-Lewin in my Fantasy team and he should have scored a couple, while it took a brilliant goalline tackle from Lisandro Martinez to deny Ao Tanaka.

“Wolves were competitive against West Ham, at least until they conceded anyway, but I can’t see past another Leeds win here. There is a nice balance to Daniel Farke’s side.

“This one might be a little bit nervy but I think they will get over the line. If they do, they will be on 39 points which should be enough to keep them up.”

“Not sure they have got the stomach” – Chris Sutton predicts Spurs, Nottingham Forest, and West Ham results

As us fans make our way out of Elland Road, all focus will be on seeing how Spurs respond when they host Brighton at 5:30pm.

Sutton doesn’t think Roberto De Zerbi’s first points as Spurs boss will come against his former employers, expecting a 0-1 win for the Seagulls.

“They really should not be in this position but I am not sure they have got the stomach to get out of it now they are,” Sutton continued.

“I just don’t think they will get one of those wins against Brighton, who have come into a bit of form.”

The bad news for Spurs continues with Sutton’s subsequent predictions on Sunday and Monday.

After Spurs’ game, Forest meet Burnley at home on Sunday, fresh from advancing to the Europa League semi-final. Sutton believes that Forest will edge out Scott Parker’s Clarets with a 1-0 home victory.

On Monday night, Sutton then thinks Nuno Espirito Santo’s Irons will come away with a 1-1 draw. Such results would leave Spurs three adrift of safety, with Forest six clear, and Leeds staggeringly nine clear.

Leeds United must take advantage of home strength to see off Wolves

That win at Old Trafford was monumental for our season. The confidence this should give us for our remaining league fixtures, and the FA Cup semi-final, cannot be understated.

We still have to go out and get the job done again versus Wolves. It’s a different challenge, and a difficult game to navigate, but you’ve got to fancy us here.

One thing I think we can all agree is a key strength of Farke’s has been his ability to maintain calm and level-headedness at Elland Road.

It’s no secret this club is emotional, and while I didn’t like when Farke kept bringing it up earlier in the season to deflect from the pressure he was under, he had a point. We are emotional, but it’s about channeling it positively to get us over the line. He’s the man to do that.
