Anders Limpar wants Everton to make Jack Grealish their top summer target and sign him at any cost. The former Blues winger is a huge fan of Grealish, who was thriving at Everton before an injury cut his season short in January. The forward produced two goals and six assists in 20 Premier League games and was well on his way to becoming a firm fan favourite.

Grealish was also clearly loving the adulation of the Everton crowd after making himself a key player at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. He became a bit-part figure at City which caused him to fall out of the picture for England. But with his contract at the Etihad expiring in 2027, and Everton having a £50million option to sign him on a long-term deal this summer, the 30-year-old could make Merseyside his permanent home.

It seems unlikely the Blues will be willing to pay the full £50m, which would make him their joint-most expensive signing of all time, given his age. But 1995 FA Cup winner Limpar wants them to pay whatever it takes to get the winger back on board for next season.

And if they do, the Swede - a self-proclaimed Everton fan - reckons they're getting their very own Martin Odegaard. Limpar believes Grealish's ability to dictate the tempo of matches makes him a lot like the Arsenal captain.

Speaking to Express Sport, on behalf of FruityKing, Limpar said: "Buy him, I don't care how much. Buy him, buy him, buy him, buy him! Just buy him. I don't care how much.

"He is still one of the best players in the Premier League and we have a solid team with another one of the best players in the league in Iliman Ndiaye. When Jack Grealish is playing, he's taking the pressure off Ndiaye because nowadays everybody is looking at Ndiaye, and he has to take on 50 people to score.

"When Jack is on the pitch, he is a player like Martin Odegaard for Arsenal. He directs the game. When to play quick. When to play slow. When he has the ball, the whole team can move 20 yards up the pitch. You don't have to stay back.

"They are tremendous, these kinds of players, and I really hope that we can buy Jack so he can be a proper Everton player because that will help the team and it will help our best player, Ndiaye."

The 60-year-old, who made 116 appearances at Arsenal before spending three seasons at Goodison Park, also wants to see David Moyes given a new centre-forward this summer. And he'd love to see Manchester United's Benjamin Sesko arrive at Everton.

The Slovenian, 22, has found form at Old Trafford with a run of goalscoring form. With Sesko highly unlikely to join Everton any time soon, Limpar at least wants to see a similar profile of No.9 join the Toffees in the next window. He even thinks a Champions League push is possible with the right frontman.

The ex-Sweden international added: "Everton have to solve the problem at number nine because in my view Beto and Thierno Barry are not Premier League players. I don't like to say that but they are not. We need a solid number nine.

"We can buy Benjamin Sesko and bring him to Everton. We need a player like that, you know? With that kind of striker, this Everton team can compete for the top three or top four. We are that good. But we need a striker who can take all the chances we create as a team and knock more of them in."
