Moisés Caicedo has signed a new long-term contract with Chelsea that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2033, in a move that underlines the club’s commitment to the midfielder as a central figure in their long-term project.
The Ecuador international has agreed improved terms, including a significant pay rise, following a series of influential performances since his arrival from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2023 for a British record fee of around £115 million.
CHELSEA confirmed the extension on Friday, with the new deal adding two additional years to his previous contract and placing Caicedo among the club’s highest earners. The agreement reflects both his growing stature within the squad and the club’s desire to build around a core group of players capable of delivering sustained success.
Since initially enduring a mixed start to life in west London, Caicedo has developed into one of Chelsea’s most reliable and consistent performers. Under the current setup, he has become a key presence in midfield, contributing both defensively and in possession while helping dictate the tempo of matches
Caicedo said: “I am so happy to have extended my contract at Chelsea. I believe in this team, this club and I know we’re going in the right direction. We’ve only just begun together.
“There is still a lot more to achieve, and I’m very hungry to keep improving every day. I want to win more trophies with Chelsea and give everything for this club and for the fans.
“We have enjoyed some great times together already and my dream is to become a Chelsea legend, and I will work as hard as possible to make that happen.”
CHELSEA, meanwhile, view the midfielder as integral to their future plans as they look to return to the top tier of European football. The club has experienced a mixed domestic campaign, with qualification for the UEFA Champions League still uncertain, but remains focused on building a competitive squad capable of challenging for major honours.
Caicedo has already played a significant role in recent successes, including contributions to Chelsea’s UEFA Conference League and Club World Cup triumphs, further reinforcing his value to the side.
The new contract represents a major statement of intent from both player and club. For Chelsea, it secures one of the Premier League’s leading midfielders for the foreseeable future; for Caicedo, it provides a platform to continue his development and pursue silverware at the highest level.
With his future now firmly tied to Stamford Bridge, attention will turn to whether Chelsea can match that long-term commitment with consistent performances on the pitch.
