West Ham Face Role Reversal As Relegation Rivals Take Centre Stage

It’s the start of a bit of a role reversal for West Ham in the relegation fight this weekend.

For once, we’re the ones sitting back and watching it all unfold before taking on [Crystal Palace](https://www.claretandhugh.info/crystal-palace-bio/) on Monday night. Personally, I’ll be giving much of the action a swerve because I’m not sure my nails can face watching Tottenham play again but curiosity might get the better of me.

Leeds can all but secure safety

-------------------------------

First up is [Leeds United](https://www.claretandhugh.info/leeds-united-bio/) against Wolves.

They’ll be full of confidence after that win at Old Trafford, and you’d suspect a victory here would all but see them safe.

And, if we’re being honest, that might not be the worst thing in the world given we face them on the final day.

Spurs under pressure again

--------------------------

Later today, Tottenham take on Brighton in the 5:30 kick-off, with Roberto De Zerbi facing his former club.

They’ll be desperate for a result — both his first win in charge and their first of 2026.

There’s been a lot made of the build-up as well. Team bonding meals, flags on every seat… all an attempt to generate some sort of atmosphere in what’s been a pretty flat stadium all season.

Forest likely favourites — but not certain

------------------------------------------

On Sunday, Nottingham Forest face Scott Parkers Burnley, and on paper, you’d expect them to win that.

But it’s not a given and I guess stranger things have happened.

They’ve had European commitments this week, and while it might be clutching at straws to suggest fatigue plays a part, it’s not completely out of the question.

It’s starting to look clearer

-----------------------------

The more you look at it, the more it feels like this is shaping up to be between West Ham and Tottenham.

But we’ll know a lot more by Sunday afternoon.

For now, it’s a case of watching or dodging it altogether… and hoping things fall our way.
