Caicedo to commit to Chelsea

Moises Caicedo is to commit his long-term future to Chelsea.

The news will come as a huge boost to the club that are under increasing pressure from a fan base who have lost faith in the project under BlueCo, with protests planned before their home match with Manchester United this weekend.

But whilst fellow internationals like Enzo Fernández, Marc Cucurella and Cole Plamer are being linked with moves to other clubs in the summer, Caicedo is staying put.

The Ecuadorean international was a marquee signing when he joined the club in 2023 in a deal worth up to £115 million, and he helped them win the Europa Conference League and Club World Cup last season.

He is already under contract until 2031. However, that is likely to be extended further, meaning that he will spend most of the rest of his career at Stamford Bridge.

He can also expect to receive a bump in salary.
