Leeds United have one of the biggest games of their season so far this afternoon at Elland Road, when they take on a Wolves side who sit rock bottom of the Premier League.
Daniel Farke will know that a win makes it almost impossible for Leeds to go down, as the Whites would be sitting on 39 points with five games left, giving them plenty of opportunities to get well past that sacred 40-point mark.

The home games against Wolves and Burnley, which are both still to come, have been circled on the calendars of many Leeds fans for months now as ideal opportunities to add anywhere from four to six points to their tally, with these games having the potential to make or break United’s season.
Ahead of their trip to Elland Road, Wolves boss Rob Edwards explained what he expects from the upcoming matchup.

Whilst Wolves look destined to be relegated, it is not mathematically confirmed yet, and Leeds will know that Wolves will want to delay the inevitable for as long as possible as they make the trip to West Yorkshire.
Since Edwards took over as manager of Wolves back in November, they have become a far more dangerous side, even if it was too little too late after their disastrous start to the season.
When previewing the game at Elland Road in his pre-match press conference, Edwards had this to say, “Elland Road is always a really good atmosphere as well. They’ll be buoyed by the result last time out away at Manchester United, so it should be a really good game for us.”
Edwards was also extremely complimentary of the good job Farke has done this season and even made a sensational claim regarding Leeds’ current league position.
“I think he’s a brilliant manager. I think he’s done a great job,” Edwards said.
“I actually think the performance levels consistently for a long time now are above where they are, especially in the league. They’ve done great and have some really good players. They have a great way of playing – aggressive, very dynamic, quick, loads of intensity, so it will be a very challenging game.”

Data suggests Leeds United cannot overlook Wolves ahead of meeting at Elland Road
Prior to their win at Old Trafford on Monday night, Leeds’ only other away win in the league this season came against Wolves at Molineux back in September.
Goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor were enough to see the Whites secure a huge 3-1 win on the road after initially going a goal down.
However, the data from that game suggests Leeds were fortunate to walk away as winners.
Wolves had an xG of 1.78 compared to Leeds’ 0.48

So, although Leeds have proven they can beat Wolves this season, they must be aware that a better performance against them at Elland Road will be required if they do not want to have to ride their luck again when they play Wolves.
