'My life' - Sandro Tonali goes public on Newcastle United transfer speculation amid Arsenal &…

Speculation surrounding Sandro Tonali’s future has dominated the news agenda at Newcastle United this season.

Sandro Tonali has claimed he no longer scrolls through social media while addressing his Newcastle United future.

Speculation surrounding the Italian has dominated the news agenda at St James’ Park. It was Tonali himself who fuelled the noise when speaking to reporters in November.

After the Magpies beat Athletic Bilbao in the Champions League, Tonali stayed coy when asked to commit to the Magpies beyond the current campaign. His agent, Beppe Riso, has since gone public on several occasions to suggest a summer transfer is likely.

Sandro Tonali transfer saga

The Gazette reported last month that Tonali believes he can leave Newcastle provided the club do not qualify for Europe. As it stands, Eddie Howe’s men sit 14th in the Premier League - with hopes of continental football next season fading fast.

It is not just Tonali whose future has been rocking the Tyneside boat. Recent weeks have also seen Anthony Gordon and Tino Livramento linked with St James’ Park exits.

NewcastleWorld understands Toon chiefs do not want a repeat of the Alexander Isak situation. Any player who wishes to leave will be allowed to do so - as long as their price tags are met.

“I don’t look at social media, I don’t like it,” Tonali said. “After my ban, I changed everything with social media. I just go to training and then go home and be with my family. My life is much better now.

“In football, if you play well, you have to deal with the transfer rumours. But if you concentrate 100 per cent on your game, and you’re happy, you don’t have to think about anything or speak about anything.”
