Manchester City are showing interest in ES Troyes AC’s Mathys Detourbet ahead of the summer transfer window.
The City Football Group own Manchester City and also the Ligue 2 side.
Last December, Sport Witness covered claims from France of the Premier League side trying to sign the 18-year-old.
The same source also stated he already visited the Etihad club’s facilities. AS Monaco and Italian clubs are also in the mix and the City Football Group connection gives Manchester City an edge.
He is a product of the French club’s youth system and made his way into their first team in 2025. The winger made 47 appearances so far and 33 are from this season.

Conflicting claims on Manchester City
Journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report the latest on ES Troyes AC’s Mathys Detourbet.
He says it’s his exclusive report that Manchester City are now close to securing the young talent’s services.
Tavolieri further adds Pep Guardiola’s side have reached an agreement for a fee of around €15m and will let him return to the French club on loan next season.
Following this report, French journalist Santi Aouna also took to X to share his take on this case. He wastes no time in dismissing Tavolieri’s claims of a deal agreed between the two clubs.
The Foot Mercato reporter states Manchester City are indeed interested in the France U19 international but there’s currently ‘no agreement’ with Troyes.
As well as the Premier League side, other unnamed clubs are also expressing interest in the player valued at €25m.
Should the Citizens and Troyes agree terms for his transfer, it’s not given Detourbet will return on loan. Aouna claims the Frenchman will have a say on his future, indicating he is yet to decide on where he wants to play next season.
Contract, value and agent info
Last May, Mathys Detourbet signed a contract until 2028, and Transfermarkt value him at €10m.
Agency ISF Sports, headed by French agent Thibaut Urien, are looking after his interest and future.
