Manchester United take on Chelsea on Saturday night, hoping to quickly bounce back from their defeat to Leeds United. Michael Carrick has some pivotal decisions to make as his backline comes under pressure due to injury and suspension.
United's trip to Stamford Bridge could see them earn a big boost on the way to Champions League qualification. The Premier League's third-placed team are seven points clear of the Blues, who sit in sixth and one spot outside of qualifying for Europe's premier competition.
Carrick will have to guide his team through adversity, however, with Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire both suspended. With Matthijs de Ligt still injured, and Leny Yoro unlikely to feature, a makeshift central defensive pairing awaits.

With that said, we take a look at the latest injury news and return dates for United's stars.
Matthijs de Ligt
Matthijs de Ligt remains out of action for United after last playing in November. The Dutchman did not make United's trip to County Kildare during the international break as he continued his rehabilitation for his back issue. At that stage, he had still not returned to the grass.
Possible return date: 24/05.
Patrick Dorgu
Manchester United ace Patrick Dorgu is not yet fit enough to return to action, but is making good progress in his journey back to action. The young talent picked up an injury against Arsenal in January.
"Patrick is not [ready] no," said Carrick. "He's going well, rehabbing well, he's kind of on track, but he's not with us in terms of training yet.
"But he's back on the pitch, as I've already said, so that's positive.'
Possible return date: 03/05.
Kobbie Mainoo
The United midfielder missed Monday's defeat to Leeds but has made the trip to west London to face Chelsea. Mainoo picked up a small injury in training and was not risked in the club's previous match but is in contention to return.
"Kobbie is doing little bits," Carrick said in his press conference. "He's working toward it, he's doing bits, so there's a decision to be made."
Possible return date: 18/04.
Leny Yoro
French defender Leny Yoro is set to add to Carrick's defensive issues after not being spotted as part of the squad travelling to Stamford Bridge on Friday.
Ahead of the game, Carrick had spoken about Yoro and Ayden Heaven's progress at the club. "It's not always easy or straightforward, but I think the level they are at right now is a really good stage," he said.
"The future is the future, they need to keep progressing and we'll give them the opportunity to do that. They are probably in as good as a place you can be at their age for centre-backs."
Possible return date: Unknown.
