Massive surprise Leeds United boost as Daniel Farke names Whites team vs Wolves with star's…

Leeds United team news for today’s Premier League showdown at home to Wolves is in.

Boss Daniel Farke has received a massive boost in naming his Leeds United team and bench for this afternoon’s huge Premier League clash against the division’s bottom side Wolves at Elland Road.

In a huge surprise, the superhuman Joe Rodon again returns very quickly from injury, the defender back on the bench just two weeks on from suffering an ankle injury in the FA Cup win at West Ham.

It was thought likely that Rodon would be out until May but the centre-back returns to the bench as Farke otherwise names the same XI that lined up for Monday night’s historic win at Manchester United.

Joe Rodon (ankle), Anton Stach (ankle) and Dan James (adductor strain) all remained out as Daniel Farke held his pre-match press conference on Thursday although none of the trio were completely ruled out.

Rodon and Stach suffered ankle injuries in the FA Cup quarter-final win at West Ham, blows that Farke admitted were likely to keep them out until May as opposed to any time later this month.

Neither were back in team training as of Thursday although Farke did make a point of stressing that both players and also James were being assessed day to day and that two more days at least offered the possibility of a surprise.

James suffered an adductor strain in the session before the West Ham cup game and has not featured since.

Gabi Gudmundsson, Jaka Bijol and Noah Okafor, though, all shook off injuries to start Monday night’s brilliant 2-1 win at Manchester United and Farke said every player bar Rodon, Stach and James remained fit and available.

That includes Ao Tanaka who was limping after coming off at Old Trafford but only through cramp.

Leeds United vs Wolves: Darlow; Bogle, Justin, Bijol, Struijk, Gudmundsson; Ampadu, Tanaka; Okafor, Aaronson, Calvert-Lewin. Subs: Perri, Bornauw, Rodon, Longstaff, Gruev, Gnonto, Buonanotte, Piroe, Nmecha. #lufc
