Sport: Milan face opposition from Barcelona and Juventus for Grimaldo – the situation

In the summer, it seems AC Milan will sign a left-back with another expected to depart the club. Now, a new name has been suggested.

For a few months now, it has seemed likely that Pervis Estupinan would leave Milan in the summer. The Ecuadorian has not worked as hoped and he has not replaced Theo Hernandez. Instead, that has been Davide Bartesaghi.

So, the Rossoneri will hope to recoup as much of their €19 million investment as possible and there is interest in him. Whether they will be able to get the full fee back, though, is something else entirely.

Another target arises

Earlier today, it was suggested that the Diavolo could make a move for Theo Hernandez, insinuating that they are in the market for a left-back/wing-back and now another report has suggested as much.

Rather than it being Theo, though, the suggestion from Spanish outlet Sport (via OneFootball) is that Alex Grimaldo is a target.

The Spaniard’s contract expires next summer and he could be available for as little as €12 million. Barcelona are seen as a leading party in the race, but there are several clubs tracking him, including Milan.

There is no indication about whether a decision will be made before the World Cup, but it is a good option to monitor.
