Newcastle United expert Luke Edwards believes there are some players who “clearly” don’t want to be at the club any longer.
It says a lot that Newcastle United need the season to end when there is what looks like a difficult summer to come.

Indeed, several top stars are expected to leave Newcastle United this summer and, frankly, none of them are doing enough to suggest they would be big misses right now.
After Newcastle’s latest dismal defeat to Bournemouth, Edwards unleashed a scathing rant.

The Daily Telegraph journalist has long been a supporter of the under pressure Eddie Howe and stressed that point once again on social media platform X.
He did, however, slam the players for yet another abject performance at St James’ Park.
“Newcastle’s season is over and all that is left is to search through the wreckage for survivors. The manager will take the blame but I hope he survives.

“He deserve to but there were several players out there today who should hang their heads in shame. Some are cowards, some aren’t good enough and others clearly don’t want to be there anymore.”
On current form, it’s hard to not suggest that this team would be a relegation candidate if the season were to drag on any longer.
They have lost eight games in the last 11 and it is very hard to see where their next win is coming from.

Howe is taking the brunt of the criticism but the boos that rang out at the end of each half were surely for the collective. Newcastle lack leadership in almost every aspect right now.
This team is coming to an ugly end of a cycle. It’s a shame it has come to this, but it surely does not have to end with such a whimper.
If there are certain players who want to go elsewhere, then so be it. Newcastle will go on without them.
To have let it get to such a toxic situation, however, is alarming.
If this really is the end of an era, then it is a shame that it has become so ugly for all involved.
The fans deserve better.
