'Now I'm just here enjoying': Axel Disasi admits the future is unclear

Axel Disasi admits his future is unclear ahead of what could be his final six games as a West Ham United player

The Frenchman has been an inspired addition for West Ham United and will look like a masterstroke of a signing if Nuno Espirito Santo’s side stay in the Premier League this season.

Would you take relegation if it meant that David Sullivan would leave?! 🤔

Not a nice position to be in – but what would YOU choose if you had to?

Hammers News understands that West Ham would like to keep Disasi, though much depends on whether they retain their top flight status. Even if they do, there’s no guarantee the central defender will continue his journey here in east London.

For now, Disasi is just enjoying his time at the club.

Disasi doesn’t know what the future holds

During an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session posted on West Ham’s official YouTube channel, Disasi and defensive partner Konstantinos Mavropanos, the France international was asked how he deals with setbacks in football.

“Now I’m just here enjoying my moment, my time,” he said.

How much should West Ham demand for Mavropanos?

“Because I know that, as I tell you [Mavropanos], maybe in two months, in four months, you never know what can happen. So I just enjoy.”

The Chelsea loanee made reference to the difficulties he has endured, which may have included his inclusion in the infamous ‘bomb squad’ in west London, a period of time in which he was kept apart from the first team alongside other players.

Disasi insists he’s learned not to take anything for granted. He’s enjoying his time at West Ham, but admits he does not know what the future holds.

Fulham also want to sign Axel Disasi

Such has been the level of his form while clad in claret and blue, the defender is not likely to be short of options even if West Ham are relegated.

Indeed, Fulham are interested in signing Disasi, who remains a Chelsea player until this summer at least,

Hopefully, the club manage to keep him. He has looked at home since joining West Ham and is surely playing the best football of his career right now.

It would be a crying shame if the journey ended after only a few more games.
