Georginio Rutter hailed the team’s resilience, after his excellent late strike earned European hopefuls Brighton and Hove Albion a 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur.
Kaoru Mitoma had earlier levelled the scoring – with a superb volley – after Pedro Porro’s header gave the hosts the lead.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Rutter reflected on Brighton’s ability to respond after falling behind twice in a tense contest.

“The good thing is we came back,” the Frenchman said.
"We took one point, better than nothing. We could give up and we didn't. We were pushing for the third goal as well, that shows big character.”
The former Leeds man – who became Brighton’s club record signing (£40 million) in 2024 – stressed the importance of consistency, as Brighton look to secure a place in Europe next season.
He said: “We try to take it game by game. We knew today would not be easy because they want to push to stay in the Premier League.
"We think about it, myself I think about it because we are close.
"We are in a good shape too because we haven't lost for a long time. Maybe at the end one point is enough to go to Europe. We keep pushing.”
The 23-year-old forward – who has struggled to find his best form this season – will hope this goal can change his fortunes.
He admitted it had been a challenging campaign personally but expressed satisfaction at contributing in a crucial moment.
“I know it was a difficult season for me, but when I come on I try to help the team,” he said. “Today I am very happy to help the team.”
He reiterated that message when speaking to Match of the Day, highlighting both frustration at conceding and pride in salvaging a point.
“I think we deserved a point. It's frustrating we conceded two goals but we take the positives and one point is better than nothing.
“We have to stay together, we are a team. We have good spirit and stay together and I hope at the end we can have a good present because we think about Europe.”
