Rosenior: 'We have to keep working' after Chelsea loss

**Liam Rosenior**reflected on the latest setback for Chelsea, who were beaten 1-0 by Manchester United at **Stamford Bridge**and lost more ground in the race for **Champions League**football.

‘There are many elements of the process’

The Blues had nearly 60% of the possession in this clash, hitting the crossbar twice in the second half through headers from **Liam Delap**and Wesley Fofana. But while the balance of efforts leaned 21 to 4 in their favour, what mattered the most was the only goal of the game courtesy of Matheus Cunha.

Chelsea's worst run since 2019/20

It is the first time since the 2019/20 season that **Chelsea**have been beaten home and away by the Red Devils in the Premier League, and Rosenior’s men have failed to score in their last four fixtures (losing 3-0 to **Manchester City**and **Everton**after being defeated 1-0 against Newcastle United.

“It was a really difficult result to take. They've had one shot on our goal when we're down to ten men because of an injury and they score. We have wave after wave of attack, put crosses in the box, and have moments that we don't take advantage – we've hit the woodwork several times.

“What we can't do is fall into a cycle where we feel like it's not going to be our day, or we feel sorry for ourselves because we have to keep working and turn this around.

“People don't want to hear me say how well we played and didn't win the game. We're here to win, and there are many elements of the process and underlying things that we're looking into that suggest that if you stay in this process, we will win games of football.

“It doesn’t look like it at the moment, but the reality is Manchester United have come here, had one shot on our goal while we [momentarily] had ten men and won a game 1-0, which should be pretty much impossible.”
