Manchester United returned to winning ways with a 1-0 Premier League win over Chelsea on the road on Saturday night.
The Red Devils went into the game at a disadvantage, as they were without four of their main central defenders.
Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire were suspended, while Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt were ruled out with injuries.
Ayden Heaven and Noussair Mazraoui lined up in the heart of the defence and produced a fantastic performance.
United managed to curb Chelsea’s threat with just one shot on target.
They were restricted to the same by the Blues, but Matheus Cunha capitalised to score right before the half-time break.
Bruno Fernandes delivered a sublime assist from the right flank for the Brazilian’s eighth goal of the league campaign.
Shortly after the 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge, Cunha celebrated on Instagram with the caption: ‘Bring me the London waves’.
Newcastle United captain and compatriot Bruno Guimaraes was one of those to comment.
He wrote ‘Feliz por você irmão’, which translates to ‘Happy for you, brother’.

The 26-year-old’s form has been a mixed bag over the last few months. However, he was very impressive yesterday. He managed 37 touches and had a passing accuracy of 95 per cent (19/20).
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers man also made four recoveries with two progressive carries. Cunha’s goal has put United in pole position to qualify for the Champions League.
With the victory, United have moved 10 points clear of sixth-placed Chelsea in the league. The club need just two wins to make the competition even if Chelsea secure maximum points hereon.
Yesterday’s result should also strengthen Michael Carrick’s bid to become permanent Man Utd manager. United have picked up 26 points since he took charge, five more than leaders Arsenal.
