Leeds United took another big step towards Premier League safety with a comfortable 3-0 win over Wolves at Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
Coming off their result against Manchester United, they knew another win would put them in a strong position, and they delivered.

James Justin got things going in the 18th minute with a stunning bicycle kick. Just two minutes later, Noah Okafor made it 2-0, finishing neatly from a cross by Brenden Aaronson.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin wrapped things up in stoppage time, converting a penalty after being brought down. The referee’s decision didn’t please everyone, but the game was over by then.
With five games left, Leeds are now nine points clear of the relegation zone and looking increasingly safe while pushing Tottenham perilously close to relegation.
Former Tottenham star stunned by Leeds turnaround
The win at Manchester United last week released some of the pressure on Leeds in the survival race, and it was an unexpected result.
Former Spurs star Michael Dawson has insisted that none of the teams in the relegation dofight didn’t see Leeds beating Manchester United at Old Trafford.
He stressed that the Wolves result was expected, but it’s the win at Old Trafford that really stunned everyone.
Dawson feels that if Leeds secure safety soon, it may be a blessing in disguise for Tottenham, who will host the Whites in the Premier League next month.
He said on Sky Sports: “What a week Leeds United have had. They have gone to Old Trafford and won; the teams down there didn’t see it coming.
“Yeah, sure, their game against Wolves they would have been looking at as a game they would have hoped to win, and they certainly did that.
“This might play into Spurs’ hands with Leeds coming to town soon, and by then they might just be safe, so there is plenty still going on in this situation.
“Leeds also have an FA Cup semi-final, which they will be focused on, so you just have to take care of yourself. That’s the key here: win your own games.
“You look at the final day, West Ham play Leeds. Leeds will be thinking that’s the last thing they want to do, go to the London Stadium and be still fighting, but it’s really exciting for the neutrals. That’s for sure.”
Daniel Farke does not want to relax
The Leeds manager has insisted that his players cannot afford to feel complacent as this season has not been a normal one. However, they have more room for errors.
Daniel Farke’s side will be in Premier League action against Bournemouth on Wednesday night before the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea next Sunday.

With games against Wolves and Burnley coming up, Leeds are on the cusp of securing Premier League football for one more season.
They will also host Tottenham, who were denied a win with a last-minute goal from Brighton’s Georginio Rutter on Saturday evening.
Farke may not want to relax, but it seems Leeds can afford to feel good about their chances of playing Premier League football next season.
