Liam Rosenior’s two-word response to whether Chelsea can still qualify for the Champions League

Chelsea’s defeat to Manchester United was a big blow to their top five hopes, however Liam Rosenior is still confident that they can qualify for the Champions League.

The Blues were beaten at home for the third consecutive Premier League game as they fell to a 1-0 loss to Manchester United following Matheus Cunha’s goal.

The Blues hit the post through Estevao Willian, Liam Delap and Wesley Fofana, however remain frustrated in front of goal at a crucial part of the season.

Time for Liam Rosenior to be sacked? Or is this mess down to the owners?🤔

Liam Rosenior thinks Champions League is still possible for Chelsea

They remain four points outside the top five, a gap which could be extended if Liverpool beat Everton tomorrow.

Despite the mountain to climb, Liam Rosenior is still believing they can make up the gap. When asked by BBC Sport if he thinks it is possible, he simply said: “Of course.”

Tough games await the Blues in the final weeks of the season. A trip to Brighton will be followed by some more difficult away games against Liverpool and Sunderland.

There is far less optimism from supporters though. They had more misery piled on them when Mason Mount shushed the crowd after coming off the bench late on.

Supporters booed their players off at both half-time and full-time, and spent the day leading up to kick-off making their feelings known too.

What do you make of supporters protesting against BlueCo right before this game?

Chelsea fans protest BlueCo before Man United game

Chelsea fans began protesting the ownership as early as 90 minutes before the game, clearly unhappy with the direction the club is being taken by Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali.

This is despite Eghbali coming out this week and saying the club are set to tweak their transfer policy in order to bring in some more experienced players to go alongside the quality they already have in their ranks.

In truth, it feels like Chelsea fans have lost faith in those leading the project, and are likely worried by the prospect of some of their big name stars losing confidence too.

Despite Reece James and Moises Caicedo putting pen to paper on a new deal, there is still no official word on the futures of Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer.
