Bournemouth
Bournemouth’s talks with Marco Rose have been ongoing for three weeks as they line him up to replace Andoni Iraola.
BILD report on the 49-year-old’s imminent move to Bournemouth, including the man who recommended him to the Cherries.
Bournemouth’s next manager
Marco Rose appears to be the man that Bournemouth have turned to to replace Iraola this summer. Reports throughout this week have indicated a deal is now in place for him to move in the summer.
Iraola announced on Wednesday that he would be leaving Bournemouth this summer. His contract expires at the end of the season, and the Spaniard has decided to move on.
BILD report that talks with Rose have been underway ‘for the past three weeks’. According to their information, a fundamental agreement has now been reached as well. This has also been reported elsewhere.
The interesting aspect is that Rose is still under contract with RB Leipzig. The German side sacked him in March last year, but his contract runs until June 30th this year. Thus, he will presumably not move to Bournemouth before that point.
A doctor’s recommendation
According to BILD, Marco Rose’s name was presented to Bournemouth by Leipzig’s former head team doctor, Dr. Percy Marshall.
He made it clear to the Cherries that Rose is keen to return to the touchline next season. He has been keeping himself out of the public eye in the last few months but is now ready to return.
Marshall has been working as Bournemouth’s Director of Medical and Performance since July last year. He, then, was well placed to recommend Rose.
He won’t be the only Leipzig reunion either. Rose also worked with Tyler Adams, Justin Kluivert and Amine Adli in the past. That is, presumably, something Bournemouth have taken into consideration.
It seems, then, that Rose’s move to Bournemouth is not a quickfire thing. Rather, the Cherries have been working on it for a while, courtesy of a recommendation from Mar
