“Marvellous” – Leeds United favourites send messages to Georgi Rutter after huge Spurs…

Leeds United won 3-0 against Wolves on Saturday to go either clear of the bottom three, as Spurs could only draw against Brighton.

After Monday’s heroic performance at Old Trafford, Daniel Farke’s Leeds needed to continue the hard work against 20th-place Wolves.

A blistering first half once again set Leeds on the way to another memorable three points.

Leeds United 3-0 Wolves: Whites stun Rob Edwards’ side with three-goal victory

Anything but three points wouldn’t really have done yesterday. Knowing Leeds’ run-in is kinder than those below us, this game against Wolves was a major opportunity to nail three points.

A chaotic couple of minutes ultimately decided the game in our favour. A set-piece scramble in the 18th minute brought the opener, as James Justin’s stunning overhead kick gave us the lead.

Little over a minute later, Brenden Aaronson broke down the right and laid a perfect pass into Noah Okafor, who made no mistake.

From then until second half stoppage time, not much happened of real note. But then, Willy Gnonto played through Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the box, only to be brought down for a penalty. The Leeds nine confidently dispatched the spot-kick for 3-0 and his 11th of the season.

Brighton silence Spurs as Georgi Rutter scores 95th minute equaliser

After our win, all eyes were on how Spurs would get on at home to Brighton.

Roberto De Zerbi had one loss already on the record and needed that rectification at home to the Seagulls. They got off to the ideal start when Pedro Porro rose to head in their first of the game.

But, the first Brighton sucker-punch landed in added time through an incredible Kaoru Mitoma volley.

Spurs, though, thought they’d snatched a winner when Xavi Simons wrapped a brilliant strike off the far post in the 77th minute. Shirt off, the Dutchman believed he was the hero.

However, there was a sting in the tail by none other than ex-Leeds man Georginio Rutter.

Off the bench, he met a cut-back on the edge of the box and curled in a magnificent equaliser to break Spurs hearts. And importantly, reignite his previous love from the Leeds fanbase.

As he posted on Instagram, Gnonto and Stuart Dallas reacted with joy:

That draw for Spurs, following our win, leaves us eight clear of relegation with five games to play.

Merci indeed, Georgi.
