For some time now, Michael Olise has looked like a hugely exciting talent. He broke through at Reading before joining Crystal Palace in 2021, establishing himself as a top prospect in the Premier League.
Amid interest from all the biggest clubs, the young winger opted to join Bayern Munich in 2024 for a reported transfer fee of €60m, including add-ons. While there was plenty of excitement over the deal, the Frenchman has more than exceeded expectations in Germany.
He won the Bundesliga in his debut season and is on course to do the same in 2025/26, while Vincent Kompany's men are also among the Champions League favourites, having beaten Real Madrid to make the semi-finals. Olise was key in that tie, scoring and assisting across both legs, and his form has been spectacular this season.
The 24-year-old has 18 goals and 29 assists in 43 games this term, taking his total goal contributions to 80 in his first 98 appearances for Bayern Munich. As such, he's put himself into the current Ballon d'Or race. Despite that, though, he doesn't have a boot sponsorship.

Sponsorships are a key part of football as players look to market themselves and grow their brand. We cannot help but think of specific logos when we think about certain legends and their standing within the game.
Lionel Messi, for example, will always be an Adidas player, while Cristiano Ronaldo belongs to the Nike camp. Their connections to those two iconic brands have no doubt helped the pair cement their status as the richest players in the game.
Olise, however, does not seem particularly interested in that side of the sport. Despite being one of the best players in the world right now, he does not have a personal boot sponsorship contract.
It's certainly uncommon for a player of his status to be in this position, but it turns out it is entirely down to his own feelings on the matter. A recent report by L'Équipe, via Footy Headlines, explained the Frenchman's position. The article stated that he simply values his comfort and personal choice over securing a commercial footwear endorsement. A source close to the player added:
“He doesn’t have one, it doesn’t interest him at all."
As he isn't connected to one brand, one huge benefit for the player's free-agent status is that he can consequently wear any boot from any manufacturer.
What Boots Does Olise Wear
The report explains that, although he primarily wears Nike products, he does not have an official agreement with the brand. He chooses these boots simply because he prefers them.
The Hypervenom 3 appear to be his most frequent choice, which is interesting as they are older models, originally produced between 2016 and 2018. Nike would liekly prefer him to wear newer boots if he had a contract with them.
Adding to this, he has also been spotted wearing the 2015 Nike Mercurial Superfly 4 as well as the newer Superfly 10. It's worth noting that he's also been spotted waiting over brands. In various training sessions, Olise has tested boots such as the New Balance Tekela V4+, and was once even spotted in classic Adidas F50 Tunit Boots from 2008.
Olise's stance over his boots suggests his nonchalant persona is genuine. His languid style on the pitch is often reflected in interviews off it, with the player often going viral after interactions with the media.
