Paris Saint-Germain have opened discussions to sign Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal this summer, with the French giants targeting the Brazilian winger as they look to strengthen their attack.
According to L’Equipe, PSG sporting director Luis Campos has held talks with Martinelli’s representatives over a potential move for the 24-year-old, who has struggled for consistency in the Premier League this season with just one goal scored so far.

The Brazil international joined Arsenal in 2019 for £6 million from Brazilian side Ituano and has since made 271 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 62 goals across all competitions. However, his current campaign has been marked by inconsistent performances despite Arsenal’s strong title challenge.
Arsenal open to summer sale
---------------------------
The approach from PSG comes after reports emerged earlier this month suggesting Arsenal would be open to selling Martinelli in the summer transfer window. The BBC reported that the north London side are ready to listen to offers for several players, including Gabriel Jesus, Ben White, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Last year, Arsenal were understood to have set a £50 million asking price for Martinelli when Bayern Munich showed interest in the winger. The German giants ultimately moved for Luis Diaz from Liverpool instead, paying £65.5 million for the Colombian.
Martinelli still has one year remaining on his current Arsenal contract, with the club holding an option to extend for another 12 months. This gives Arsenal some leverage in any potential negotiations, though his reduced impact this season may affect his market value.
PSG exploring multiple options
------------------------------
PSG’s interest in Martinelli is part of a broader recruitment drive as they look to refresh their attacking options. The report indicates that Campos has also held discussions over signing RB Leipzig’s highly-rated 19-year-old winger Yan Diomande, who is also attracting interest from Manchester United and Liverpool.
The French champions’ pursuit of attacking reinforcements reflects their ambition to build a squad capable of competing for the Champions League, having fallen short of expectations in recent seasons despite significant investment in star players.
For Arsenal, any decision on Martinelli’s future will likely depend on their summer transfer strategy and whether they can secure adequate replacements. The winger’s pace and direct running have been valuable assets for Mikel Arteta’s side, though his reduced output this season has raised questions about his long-term role at the Emirates Stadium.
