What Reece James and Levi Colwill couldn't believe during Chelsea's loss to Manchester United - journalist

Chelsea were without Reece James and Levi Colwill for their defeat to Manchester United on Saturday.

James is still out injured with a hamstring injury, while Colwill is building up his fitness after damaging his ACL.

While neither player was on the pitch, they were both at Stamford Bridge supporting their team.

Reece James and Levi Colwill couldn’t believe Chelsea weren’t handed a penalty

James and Colwill lived every moment of Chelsea’s big Premier League clash against United.

According to Sky Sports journalist Gary Cotterill, James and Colwill, as well as Joao Pedro, could not believe that Chelsea were not awarded a penalty in the first half.

It was the only way they were going to score in the first 45 minutes after a very lacklustre attacking performance.

Whatever Liam Rosenior said at half-time seemed to have a positive influence on them. The Blues were much better in the second half, moving the ball faster and creating more opportunities.

In the end, though, it was not enough, as they went on to lose 1-0. It was the sort of game that James and Colwill would have loved to be involved in.

The good news for Chelsea is that Colwill recently played an Under-21 match, so he should be back soon.

Chelsea missing Reece James and Levi Colwill

James is arguably the best full-back in the Premier League. The Chelsea captain can attack and defend.

As for Colwill, he is the ideal modern-day centre-back. The 23-year-old is really good on the ball, but he is also a very aggressive defender.

James and Colwill are also two of the dressing room’s leaders and have been at Chelsea their whole lives. There is no doubt that the team are missing both players.

Next season, hopefully James and Colwill can stay fit. They drastically improve Chelsea’s backline, which has been way too leaky this season and especially of late. Since Rosenior’s arrival, they have only kept one clean sheet in the Premier League.
