There could soon be big news on the Robert Lewandowski front, with his agent due in Italy to meet AC Milan and Juventus.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) report that the ‘race for Lewandowski’ precedes next Sunday’s Milan-Juventus match at San Siro. Before the Rossoneri and Bianconeri face off on the pitch, they will battle it out on the transfer market.
This week, likely around the time of the games, the agent of the striker is expected in Italy. He has numerous meetings scheduled, and he intends to use his trip to Milan to personally explore the interest of Serie A’s top clubs in his client.
Ticking boxes
Milan and Juventus are searching for a top striker for 2026-27 and have been inquiring about the 37-year-old, whose deal with the Blaugrana expires in a couple of months. As the time for Lewandowski to make his decisions approaches, his agent wants to understand the intentions of Milan and Juve.
Both can offer their prestige, history and stated ambitions, but not the double-digit salaries the Pole earned in Spain. Robert has scored 565 goals across spells Borussia Dortmund (103), Bayern Munich (344) and Barcelona (118) and is fascinated by a final Italian dance in the style of Luka Modric.
Juventus and Milan intrigue Lewandowski, who as a boy grew up in Poland dreaming of winning in Serie A, and the admiration is reciprocated. He may no longer be very young, the former Bayern player, but he is one of the best scorers of the last 15 years.
This season he has scored 17 goals despite not always playing as a starter and last season he finished with 42 goals. The first to know are Massimiliano Allegri and Luciano Spalletti, who have had quite a few problems at the centre of the attack in recent months.
The former has had to make do by adapting Leao (10 goals between Serie A and the Coppa Italia), Pulisic (10) and Nkunku (six) and in January he added Füllkrug (one). Lewa alone has scored just ten fewer goals than the four Rossoneri players.
Competition and the Vlahovic factor
Lewandowski would like to play another couple of years and currently has a one-year contract extension with Barcelona in hand – but with a pay cut – as well as some attractive offers from the American MLS and Saudi Arabia.
Lewandowski’s agent, barring any changes to his plans, wants to concretely gauge the interest of Milan and Juventus before approaching the striker with all his options. Dusan Vlahovic is also eyeing Lewandowski’s future with interest, while hoping to recover for the San Siro match.

The Serbian’s contract expires at the end of June like Lewandowski and he has opened the door to a renewal with Juventus, so the club are working to satisfy Spalletti. However, Juventus CEO Damien Comolli has postponed the matter until the end of the season, rekindling Milan’s interest.
Lewandowski could become Milan’s centre-forward, facilitating Vlahovic’s extension with Juventus. Otherwise, the Pole in Turin could push the Serbian to Milanello. There’s also a third possibility: Lewandowski doesn’t come to Serie A.
In that case, Milan would evaluate Nicolas Jackson, a Chelsea striker on loan at Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Juventus would decide between Vlahovic and the return of former player Randal Kolo Muani, now at Tottenham but owned by PSG.
