Barcelona have offered Christensen a one-year extension, with the option of another 12 months, at a significantly reduced rate. However, it’s been turned down by the defender, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Christensen is said to still want to stay and has asked his agent to continue talks, but whether an agreement between the two parties can be found remains to be seen.
In the meantime, Christensen will continue his recovery from injury and is hoping to return in the final games of the current campaign.
Christensen will then enjoy a summer off as Denmark just missed out on qualification to the 2026 World Cup.
