Manchester United have been linked to Bruno Guimaraes as a midfield target, and the Newcastle United star celebrated Matheus Cunha’s goal.
Matheus Cunha scored at Stamford Bridge to give Manchester United a 1-0 win over Chelsea in the Premier League.
It was the Brazilian’s eighth goal of the season, and he celebrated with his iconic surfing celebration with captain Bruno Fernandes.
After the full-time whistle, Matheus Cunha took to social media to celebrate his goal and Bruno Guimaraes was quick to reply to his compatriot.

Bruno Guimaraes celebrates Matheus Cunha display vs Chelsea
On Instagram, Cunha shared several photos from his performance at Stamford Bridge, captioned: “Bring me the London waves.”
Guimaraes replied: “Happy for you brother,” while fellow Brazilian and Newcastle midfielder Joelinton also commented.
United have been linked to Guimaraes ahead of the 2026 summer transfer window, where the Red Devils are expected to overhaul their midfield.

Not only do Guimaraes and Cunha share the pitch together with the Brazil national team, but they appear to be good friends off the pitch too.
Interestingly, United have already spoke to Guimaraes’ agents because he shares the same agency as Cunha.

During talks for the £62.5m deal, it was reported that United had a good connection with Cunha’s agents, which could put the Red Devils in a good position to try and push for Guimaraes this summer.
If the Newcastle captain pushes for an Old Trafford move, he could be wearing red with Cunha next season.
