Wolves defender Ladislav Krejci is being targeted by Leeds this summer, the Express & Star understands.

Following their clash at Elland Road on Saturday, in which Wolves were badly beaten 3-0, it has been revealed the Yorkshire club are in talks with intermediaries about a potential summer deal for the defender.

Krejci, who signed on loan from Girona in the summer for a £6million loan fee, will become a permanent Wolves player at the end of the season for an addition £20million.

He has been the most impressive of Wolves' six summer signings and after captaining Czechia to the World Cup through the play-offs, he has been attracting interest from other clubs.

It is understood a number of clubs are weighing up a move for Krejci, with Leeds opening conversations with intermediaries, although it is believed Wolves have not yet been contacted.

Reports have suggested Pascal Struijk may leave Leeds this summer and the Express & Star understands they are targeting Krejci as a potential option to replace him.

Wolves will need to generate some money with high profile sales when the transfer window opens and the opportunity to get their money back on Krejci may be an attractive option.

The Express & Star understands there is a release clause in Krejci’s Wolves deal, which is considerably higher than the £26million the club will pay overall to sign him.

It is understood that Leeds are currently unwilling to match the release clause, but could be willing to offer Wolves the money back that they paid for the versatile defender.
