Sky Sports forced to apologise for Man City's comments in interview after win vs Arsenal [video]

Sky Sports was forced to apologise after Erling Haaland used explicit language following Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola’s side moved within three points of the Gunners on Sunday and could go top of the Premier League with a win against Burnley next week.

Rayan Cherki put the hosts in front in the 16th minute, before Gianluigi Donnarumma’s costly mistake allowed Kai Havertz to equalise moments later.

After both sides struck the post early in the second half, City took control, with Haaland firing past David Raya in the 65th minute to put them back in front.

Manchester City's Erling Haaland warms up to face Chelsea

Haaland joined Manchester City captain Bernardo Silva for post-match media duties and was asked to comment on the Portuguese international’s performance.

The City striker was asked about a late moment in the game when Silva tracked back to challenge Havertz and won an aerial duel against Viktor Gyokeres.

Haaland was effusive in his praise, saying:

“I remember that cross, I told him after when he headed it out, I told him you were like ‘f****ng Cannavaro’.”

The Norwegian was then interrupted by Sky Sports’ Patrick Davison, who reminded him about his language:

"Erling, language please."

To which Haaland responded:

"It’s alright, we’ve all been swearing in our lives."

Super Sunday presenter David Jones later offered an apology when coverage returned to the studio, saying: “Apologies for the language. I get the feeling they were trying to hold quite a lot back in that interview.”
