A second half strike from Erling Haaland secured a precious win for Pep Guardiola’s side and moved us to within three points of top spot, with a game in hand.
In what was an incident-packed, thrilling encounter at a fired-up Etihad, Rayan Cherki had powered City into a 16th minute lead with a superb strike.
Arsenal though hit back to level 30 seconds later through a bizarre effort from Kai Havertz that ricocheted in after he had had intercepted a Gianluigi Donnarumma clearance.
Both Cherki and Haaland also struck the woodwork with Eberechi Eze and Gabriel hitting the post for the Gunners.
But City were not to be denied and it was Haaland who made the difference, the striker firing home a superb 65th minute effort to secure victory and further boost City’s push for the league title,
