Man United 1-0 Chelsea: Post-Match Player Ratings

After what was quite a cagey affair, The Red Devils left Stamford Bridge with three points thanks to a goal from Matheus Cunha and yet another assist for Bruno Fernandes.

With the win, Man United have gone ten points clear of Chelsea and falling out the Champions League qualification places for next season.

Now it means that The Red Devils are more or less guaranteed European football after missing out for a year.

Also with yet another assist for Bruno, he is now chasing history in the last few games of the season as he tries to break Thierry Henry’s assist record.

Below I rated the performances from Manchester United players yesterday.

Senne Lammens - 7

A commanding performance from the Dutchman, doing well to organise the defense as well as make important saves throughout.

Noussair Mazraoui - 7.5

With the lack of centerbacks leading into the fixture, Mazraoui was given the job of being a makeshift centerback.

Despite the lack of experience in the role, he played exceptionally well, making no mistakes and putting in a solid performance at the back.

Ayden Heaven - 8

We have always known how talented Heaven is, but he showed maturity and confidence that we haven’t seen before.

Being thrown in such a big game as the only healthy centerback in the club, he did a perfect job, leaving little doubt about his talent.

Luke Shaw - 6.5

In the opening minutes, looked to be struggling up against Estevao especially when it came to his speed and tricky feet.

However once the young Brazilian was forced off due to injury, Shaw put in a professional performance that we have seen more often than not this season.

Diogo Dalot - 7.5

Was given the job of marking the former Man United man, Alejandro Garnacho, and did extremely well to not give him a sniff all game.

Had multiple one against one moments that he almost always came out on top.

Casemiro - 7

Did what he’s been doing so well recently in linking up the play and breaking up attacks from Chelsea.

Another performance from the Brazilian emphasising his class and proof that he will be missed come the end of the season.

Kobbie Mainoo - 7.5

Did an incredible job linking up the play and progressing the ball, looking like a seasoned veteran on the pitch.

He looked to have gained more confidence from some of his poor performances recently.

Bruno Fernandes - 9

Another incredible performance from Fernandes, once again showing people why he should be the Premier League Player of the Year.

Provided yet another assist for Cunha as he now reaches 18 assists as he gets one closer to breaking Thierry Henry’s record of 20.

Had a great performance defensively as well, constantly setting an example with his relentless pressing and defensive consistency.

Matheus Cunha - 7.5

Played well today, grabbing himself his eighth goal of the Premier League season with a composed finish inside the box.

Apart from that it was nothing different from the Brazilian, constantly trying to take on his man, beating him sometimes but also losing the ball as well quite a lot.

Bryan Mbuemo - 6

Struggled today, ran a lot but struggled to make any impact on the pitch.

This follows what has been a poor run of form for the Cameroonian following AFCON in January.

Man United fans are sure to hope he can soon return to the amazing form he showed before that.

Benjamin Sesko - 6

Also struggled to make much of an impact today against a struggling Chelsea defense.

Throughout the game you could see he was trying to use his strength and pace to cause problems for the Chelsea backline, but they were able to stop him pretty easily.
