Liam Delap clearly feels that Chelsea should have beaten Manchester United over the weekend.
Chelsea lost 1-0 against their Premier League rivals, all but ending their hopes of finishing in the top five this season.
A day later, Liverpool and Aston Villa both secured wins to boost their chances of qualifying for the Champions League.

Liam Delap claims Chelsea would have scored four goals against Manchester United on another day
In the first half of their loss to United, Chelsea did not really create much. However, in the second half, they went up another gear and did enough to win the game, according to Delap.
In fact, the striker feels the Blues would have easily scored four goals on another day.
In a post-match interview, which has been shared by Chelsea’s official club website, Delap said: “It’s really disappointing because we feel we didn’t deserve that. We were the better team. It’s a horrible feeling. Obviously we had one man go off and we needed to switch on and defend that moment, and we didn’t.
“On another day we score four in the second half, but it was just one of those days. It’s not like we’re not creating chances. We’re creating plenty of chances, but it’s just that fine tweaking of our finishing and it going in.”

Delap came close to scoring after hitting the woodwork, but it is now another Premier League match where the 23-year-old has failed to convert.
In 24 outings, he has only managed to find the back of the net on one occasion. After a disappointing season, Delap could now leave Chelsea.
He has not been in west London for long, but it is already being reported that Delap is intrigued by interest from other clubs.
Chelsea’s attacking numbers during Manchester United defeat prove Liam Delap’s point
Delap is not wrong to claim that Chelsea should have scored against United on Saturday. Their attacking numbers show that.
For example, according to Sofascore, they had an xG of 1.57. It is not the highest that the Blues have recorded, but it was still significantly higher than United’s total of 0.29. Despite that, it was Michael Carrick’s side who managed to score the only goal of the game.
Chelsea also registered 21 shots and hit the woodwork three times. It is astonishing that they failed to score and walk away with at least a point.
It will prove costly after other results did not go their way. There is no doubt that the weekend just gone has finished Chelsea.
